After Ajay Devgan-Rohit Shetty film Singham, a remake of Surya’s Tamil film, hit it big at the box office, Akshay Kumar’s Rowdy Rathore, a remake of Telugu film Vikramarkudu smashed into the 100-crore-club with Rs 134 crore collections into the fourth week and still counting.
Now another two Hindi remakes of Telugu films are in production and due for release this year.
Ajay Devgn starrer Son of Sardar, remake of Telugu film Maryada Ramanna, directed by Ashwini Dheer will be releasing this Diwali. Telugu super hit Bommirullu is being remade in Hindi by Anees Bazmee with the title It’s My Life with Nana Patekar and Harman Baweja. It will also be released this year.
There are also reports of Tamil films Arya’s Vettai and Murugadoss Thupakki being remade in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor and Akshay Kumar respectively.
